Hello Players and Families,
My name is Andrew Fraser, and I am proud to be the head coach of the U18C 2026-2027 Kanata Rangers.
I have been involved with the KGHA since 2013, beginning with IP Fundamentals and continuing each season as a coach or volunteer, primarily at the competitive level. I bring experience from both my playing background and formal coaching development, and I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside strong coaches within this organization.
Our staff will be built with a clear purpose: to create a structured, competitive environment where players are challenged, supported, and held to a high standard.
Roster Tryouts
Tryouts are competitive by design. Every player will be evaluated fairly and consistently, with input from independent evaluators and coaches.
We are not only selecting based on skill—we are selecting players who compete, who are coachable, and who contribute to a team-first environment.
Control what you can: effort, attitude, and consistency.
For those who are released, there will be disappointment—that’s part of competitive sport. How players respond to that adversity will matter more than the outcome itself.

Team Identity
Relentless.
We will be a team that competes every shift, pressures the puck, and earns everything we get. We
will be difficult to play against because of our work ethic, structure, and consistency.
Our Values
Development and Success
Development in this program will be deliberate and demanding.
Players will be challenged in high-pressure situations—physically and mentally. Practices will be structured, purposeful, and competitive. We will focus on execution, decision-making, and playing within a team system.
Success will not be measured only by wins and losses—but by how we compete, how we improve, and how consistently we meet our standards.
Season Schedule and Fees
The team is planning to participate in three to four tournaments, with provincials as a primary objective.
Budget details will be shared once the roster and staff are finalized.
Player Commitment
The priority remains: Family - Education - Hockey.
With that said, being part of this team requires commitment.
Players should expect to participate in on-ice and off-ice activities three to four times per week.
Attendance and engagement matter—both are signs of respect for teammates and the program.
Schedules will be communicated early to allow players to manage school, work, and hockey responsibilities effectively.
For those who earn a spot on this team, you will be part of a competitive, structured, and demanding environment—one that is built to challenge you and help you improve.
For those who are released, I wish you the best moving forward and encourage you to continue competing and developing.
I am looking forward to building a team that competes hard, holds itself accountable, and represents the Kanata Rangers with pride.
Respectfully,
Andrew Fraser
