Welcome to the 2025-2026 KGHA House League Season!  This tab will provide you with information on the U7 and U9 house league division of our programs.

**Information Night:** 

A reminder that a U7/U9 information night will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, at 6:30 PM in the Upper Hall of the Cardel Recreation Centre. We hope to see you there!  A great opportunity to learn more and ask questions.  

**Team Staff Volunteers:** 

This season's new rules require all team staff to complete their qualifications before the season begins. U7 Program Information & Season Start

Since there are no formal evaluations for the U7 program, it will begin later in September. The first weekend is scheduled as follows:

All players should attend both days. Please arrive 30-45 minutes before the ice times. During the first weekend, players will participate in basic skating drills to assess skill levels. It's perfectly fine if some players cannot yet skate, or struggle to skate; we'll ensure they have sufficient support.

The first weekend can be a bit busy with many new players, so thank you in advance for your patience, help, and positive energy! We can't wait to get started.

U9 Program Information & Season Start

Since KGHA follows Hockey Canada pathways at U9, our players will have an opportunity to take part in "pathway skates" before the sort-outs begin.  These offer an opportunity for players to get onto the ice, build some confidence, shake off the rust and help prepare them for the sort-outs.  Four pathway skate sessions, over two weekends, are offered before sort-out evaluations.  

To simplify things, ice times for the first two weekends at the U9 division will be assigned based on LAST NAME and is listed below.  Please attend your assigned time to ensure balanced distribution of players between the hours.  In the next few weeks, player specific schedules will be provided for the start of sort-outs beginning on September 20th.  Please note that the sort-out format will include a skills evaluation on the first day followed by half-ice games for the remainder of the evaluations.  Evaluations are done to allow for the creation of balanced teams within the division.    

Please arrive 30-45 minutes before the scheduled ice times and check-in at the registration desk prior to each ice time.
