For more than a decade, Mike Thomas has been a dedicated and valued member of the KGHA hockey family. Over the years, Mike has taken on many roles—team trainer, goalie coach, assistant coach, executive member, and head coach—always giving his time and energy generously to support the organization and its players.
No matter the position, Mike approached every role with fairness, passion, and a genuine commitment to helping each player grow, succeed, and feel valued. Those who had the privilege of being coached by Mike know the kind of leader he is: patient, encouraging, and deeply invested in every player not just as an athlete, but as a person. His impact has extended far beyond the game itself—building confidence, shaping character, and creating lasting memories for countless players.
Mike’s final year with KGHA was a busy and meaningful one, as he led both the U18C and U18HL-1 teams. True to his nature, Mike would be the first to say “it takes a village,” and he has always been quick to recognize the many coaches, staff, and parents who have contributed their time and support over the years. Along the way, strong friendships were formed, and together they built something truly special.
Thank you, Mike, for the countless hours behind the bench, for your leadership, encouragement, and dedication to creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment where players could grow and develop a lifelong love of the game. Your impact on KGHA will be felt for years to come!
